We had a lovely project week in England, with lots of things to do and see. Here is a short description of what we did:
After a very early start and arrival in ...

... Heathrow, we had the opportunity to see Windsor Castle, its grounds and State Apartments in all their fine glory. Unfortunately, there was no more of Harry´s and Meghan´s wedding cake left.
On Thursday and Friday during the day, the pupils attended lessons until 15.30. and we had a very interesting tour of Cambridge, comprising some colleges and King´s Chapel. Friday evening was spent on a Ghost tour with guides who told thrilling stories about the various haunted houses and colleges.
The trip to London on Saturday gave us a short glimpse of the main sights and we had a relaxing picnic in Green Park, before we went to see the Dungeon and Mme Tussauds.
Sunday was spent at the seaside- Wells next the Sea being a typical English seaside village with fish and chips shops, sandy beaches and lots of holiday makers. We also made a short stop at the impressive cathedral at Ely .
As Monday was a bank holiday, we enjoyed Cambridge and its surroundings: punting on the river Cam ( luckily the person who fell into the river was none of our group) and a walk along the river to the Orchard Tea Gardens in Grantchester, where we had cream tea under old apple trees.
There was another full day of lessons on Tuesday, some last minute shopping for souvenirs and college sweaters , saying good bye to the host families as we were leaving very early on Wednesday morning.
All in all, the students had many opportunities to use their English language skills and saw many aspects of British culture and lifestyle. Both students and teachers (Mr. Bridge, Mrs Handler, Mrs Korath-Malota) enjoyed the trip!
